Hellbreak is a new trading card game where horror movie monsters fight to the death. Dracula against Jaws is not a metaphor, it is the actual starter set. Built by Spin Master with Universal Products and Experiences and designed by the team at Ghost Galaxy, it pulls characters from Universal’s horror catalog, with Blumhouse, AMC, and Lionsgate properties named at launch as part of the license pool. That pool has already proven wider than the launch-day list: Death Angels (A Quiet Place), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and the Headless Horseman are all confirmed since, and none of them is a clean fit for the original four-studio framing. Good news for a licensed game’s survival odds, and a sign this list will keep growing.
The dates need care. October 31, 2026 is a launch event; ICv2 reported from Gen Con 2026 that the first set reaches stores in January 2027, with the release window pushed to Q1 2027. Anywhere this site gives you a date, that split is the reason.
This site covers the practical side. What is in the $27 starter set and whether it is enough to actually play. How the booster box math works. Which monsters are confirmed versus which are wishful thinking. And if you are a horror fan who has never touched a trading card game, we wrote the beginner guide for you specifically, no card game background assumed.
We are not affiliated with Spin Master, Universal, or anyone else with something to sell you. New TCGs fail more often than they succeed, licensed ones especially, and we would rather tell you that on the front page than pretend every product is a must-buy.
